strict librarians

 source: http://www2.slais.ubc.ca/cynthian/C_Ng-A2/boys.jpg

Okay, so just a heads up this is gonna be a rant post.

So, today I was at the library and there's this one librarian that just hates me and my friends' guts. (is that grammatically correct?) Today he told me off for being "rude and insolent", look you ask any single one of my teachers (not joking any teacher), I'm basically known as what they call the "goodie-goodie", never rude. I mean I swear he's got it in for me. He's basically this old librarian who just nags you. Like look, my library is a pretty dodgy library, no joke, dodgy. No one follows no damn fucking rules, kids screaming, old men farting and w**king (i don't want that word on here, but you get my drift). And basically everyone brings food into the library. Today I had an icecream, the other day a lady had a whole pizza, a whole 8 sliced pizza with like a kabillion toppings - thats practically half a party. I mean you tell me off but not the rest of the f-ing community. No joke he just picks on me and my friend like he's got nothing better to do. And here's the thing that pisses me off even more, none of the other librarians care, like out of the 15 or so librarians roaming the place its just him. The rest of them honestly do not give a fuck. Like I swear... oh my god, people just need to chill. I mean yolo, why waste your life telling people off?

Wow, this kinda feels like a toned down Jenna Marbles rant.

I've done ranting. Have a good night.

androgynous

striped blazer (grandmas) - $0
denim jeans (jay jays) - $20
scarf (diy) - $0
bag (handmade gift from grandma) -  $0
heeled ankle boots (Rubi) - $40
navy sweater (St. Mark's) - brother's - $0

This outfit has some sort of androgynous feel to it. It's different. Anyways, we had mufti/civi day at school. Here's the little behind the outfit story: I literally (no joke my mum yells at me for this) take forever to get out of the house these days. The other day I was up at 6:30am and yet I was still the last one out the bloody door. I missed my train twice this week. Here's the thing, this past week feels like a complete blur to me, like its Thursday already and I'm just confused on how it's already Friday tomorrow. Anyways so the outfit, like every other morning I'm in the biggest rush. This morning I literally had a what-on-earth-am-i-gonna-wear/omg-i-hate-my-clothes moment and scrambled through my closest and found this retro blazer. In that split second, my mind flashbacked to when my grandma gave the blazer to me, she was gonna chuck it out and what do you know I fell in love with it. So I chucked the blazer on and a pair of jeans and kaboom bolted out the door.

So basically as I said this week's been a big fat blur,
I realised that I had posted this week's inspire-wed on Tuesday because I thought it was Wednesday.
- I fell and slipped on rope and my right arm now kills, I'm surprised it hasn't bruised yet
- I had the art show for my art major on wednesday stayed all day in the art rooms then from 5-8pm next to my art work to guard it LOL
- I haven't studied much this week cause I've spent half the time stressing about my major
- I'm tired like 80% of the time I am awake
- Poo this sucks, when will this end?

strange familiar

 Hi.

First week back at school was a tough one. I hate you, HSC.
Anyways so my grandparents did this sorta-round the world trip a while back and just got back a week ago. They went all over Europe, I think it was something like 7/8 European countries: England, Italy, Germany, France etc. Then they flew to China to see family and friends. In China they did this little road trip, driving past shanty towns and what not. On their trip, my grandma picked up this little (actually its quite big) bag here. She said that it was handmade.

It's tres cool. It's got this whole tribal, native, indie feel. LOL

I love it.

Thank you, Grandma.

choices and more choices

 source: cravetheseclothes.com

The other day I was talking my friend, Charlotte, and we were discussing future lifestyles and how the choices we make today will heavily effect the events of the future. We pondered especially over career choices (it's the hot topic this week at school, no joke everyone's talking about it and the uac guide came out last week - shits getting serious round here).

So here's the thing. It comes down to 2 options basically:
Do you:

a) find a job that pays well and basically makes you rich - can money really buy happiness?
but you can't stand it, you just hate the job - makes you miserable

or

b) find a job that pays moderately, but makes you happy and is your passion.

I mean if your job ticks both of those boxes then good for you.
But I question myself constantly, do i prefer having lots of money or happiness cause at the end of the day, its your life and your career makes up about 80% of it.
For me I think I prefer doing something that I have a passion for rather than something I can't stand.
Nothing's easy in this world, but it's worth it in the end if it puts a smile on your face.

just a thanks

My lovely friend, Mandy, sent this to me today. We had been discussing school and study and year 12 and hsc and how we've put so much effort in and yet still not seeing the results we'd hope.

The quote "effort never betrays you" encompasses everything that is going on with mine and many hsc students lives at the moment and it just helps put you in the right mindset. It's sort of like a little pat on the back saying, you know, its going to be okay.

Anyways I just wanted to thank Mandy and her little quote for making my day.

study dates

Today I went to the library with my lovely friend to study modern history.  I managed to do about three-quarters of my essay, which is pretty good considering sometimes it can take up to a week. At lunch we popped over to the art gallery where I met my friend's mum, who has one of the coolest jobs ever: an art conservator - amazing. After lunch we walked around the gallery for a bit, before heading back to the books. T'was a splendid day.

sources: Stumbleupon, Nicky Hilton's instagram, Troian Bellisario's instagram

Wednesdays can be tough. You're only halfway through the week and it feels like the weekend is never going to arrive. Alas, I have decided to introduce, yet another segment - inspirational wednesdays. I will search the net to odd ends to find something interesting and worthy of sharing to keep you motivated and working through the rest of the week.

Film | Cadillac Records

I have this movie on my computer and so badly want to watch it, but I have so much work to do (damn you hsc). Maybe I'll watch it at the end of the week as a treat.  Today I had english tutor and did a Paper 2 exam, oh my god my hand died afterwards and I didn't finish any of my essays - do they have places where you can learn to write faster?

I love the 60's and Etta James. Pure brilliance.

comfortable and pleasant

grey sweater (bigw) - $8- what? its comfy. don't judge :)
denim jeans (jay jays) - $20
scarf (old school scarf) - $5
ugg boots - $75

Yo! So... hi :)

  • Finally got my uggs, they are amazing. So warm, I would wear them everywhere.
  • TGIF.
  • I've been listening to some house/dubstep music lately - it's great music to exercise to, you get so motivated its incredible.
  • I'm content - I found a framer for my art major today. I drove to at least 5 places around Sydney to find one that was willing to do the job - last one on my list was the lucky one.
  • Excited - cause I will be seeing my two bestfriends soon: I miss them to death.
  • Annoyed and satisfied - that I've wasted a week on my art major rather than studying for my trials, but I guess its better to get it over and done with.
  • Happy - cause I finally got round to fixing my the format of my blog - been meaning to do it since March - only, you know, 3 months late, no biggie.

tips wednesday: drying brushes

So tips Wednesday.... I mean you know only a couple of hours late.. heh.

Moving on, so this tip is basically for all you awesome watercolour painters out there. When drying your brushes keep them in an upright position with the brush facing the ground. What this does is the water drips down the hair to the ground. If you had the hairs facing the sky, the water drips down towards the base of the brush and this can lead to the glue that holds the brush together to strip away over time. And one day the whole brush will just fall apart - trust me its happened. Hence for your brushes to sustain a prolong and happy life - let them point to the ground!

Maybe I should do a cleaning brush tutorial.....

Anyways, hope you're well!

n.b. this method of "letting the brushes point to the ground" also works for makeup brushes :)

winter break

So yes, winter break has begun and I'm freaking the f' out. I have so much to do these holidays its actually unbelievable. All of this week I'm painting as I need to finish my major artwork by the first week back at school. Then I have 2 essays to write, english essays to remember, maths homework to do, modern notes to type, trials to study for... it just never ends. To all the hsc students, best of luck and I hope no one is as busy as me.

On another note in the last 3 days I've started my last topic for maths, did a j-ruse english hsc trial paper (omg), watched two films: the reader (too much sex, but interesting 'history and memory' story) and the vow (crap ending, channing's buff), painted and slept (alot).

Umm, interesting things that have happened or will happen: mum recently got an ipad - its pretty cool, I'm getting ugg boots this week (sorry Jenny for dragging you), I'll finally complete my artwork and see it in the whole, new most played song good time by owl city and carly rae jepson and pretty little liars comes out tmrw - woot ;)

hope you're well, i think there'll be a tips tuesday today - i think....
