native

/ above images from:  indulgy.com /

Yesterday I cleaned up my room and to give it a new look, I put up some fairy lights. Inspired by some tumblring procrastination, my room is like a whimsical wonderland. Okay so that may be an exaggeration but you get my gist, it just feels more homey.
Summary of dah photos below:
- I also cleaned up my vanity table and reorganised it.
- I decided to use more glass tumblrs/jars and what nots to hold my random bits and bobs.
- chucked in a selfie cause #yolo, but I'm loving these pink nails hahahahahs
- I bought a pair of new sunnies cause I broke three pairs in the past month :3 I need a sunglasses case - that must be what it is.
- Mr Bump and Pooh Bear from the Easter show
- lastly, this is my model for communications. This is the third time I've made it. Second time I cut my thumb, so third time lucky? It turned out alright, I suppose. My lecturer has confused our whole cohort of first years by constantly re-editing his definition of what he wants with voids and elements. It's flipping confusing but I guess thats uni for yah. Now to do axonometric drawings LOL gettin a little too architectural here but yeah

also go check out OneRepublic's new album, Native - ermahgawd its pretty chill (not a promotional announcement hahas)

good friday

Hey-ho bro?

Idunno.

My best friend and I went to the Sydney Royal Easter Show today, with her little brother. To just be a kid again, letting your mind run wild for a couple of hours was really nice. I mean I know I only turned 18 last Friday, but man life is hard as an "adult". I recently realised I gotta start paying "adult" prices for certain things. Sucks to be old.

The Easter Show was pretty hecitc as it is every year I suppose. I got the Mr Men showbag and a Winnie the Pooh toy. My life felt complete when I bought that pooh bear. Cooomplete

keep on running

birds with peter pan collar (H&M)
black circle skirt (H&M)
black loafers (Rubi)

Hey ho,

Easter break yo!

I need this mini-holiday, sigh, 4 weeks into uni already - omg.
What do I have planned this coming week  - gonna rebuild my model cause my tutor wants a more 'complex' structure. I cut my thumb making the model the second time round. Here we go model number 3. Heaps to do.

Also the sunset - last night? So beautiful.

Last Saturday I celebrated my 18th with a little get together with friends, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came. Seriously, thank you for everything.

eighteen years

floral print dress (MinkPink)
ankle boots (Rubi)

I'm eighteen today. I feel so old. Not celebrating tonight, I'm so tired from uni and I have to prep and clean up for tomorrow. I can't wait to let loose and just relax from a long week.

spaceman

white sleeveless blouse (H&M)
black midwaisted pants (H&M)
black loafers (Rubi)
dark cinnamon blazer - Grandma's
leather bag - thrifted

This is my sporadically wacky outfit of the week which I wore to a work dinner a couple of nights ago. Reason for the decapitation of my head: I pulled an unattractive face, but this is the only shot with a sound depiction of the outfit. Eh, what can you do.

I don't have a good reason for my lack of blogging, except to say I'm slowly starting to feel the weight of uni on my shoulders. My course requires a certain state of attention to detail and attention to aesthetics and I feel as if my mind is gradually imploding on itself. But I'm talking gibberish cause I've got it reasonably easy compared to law or med kids.

new camera

Hey ho,

Been away on this, hahas, so yeah in the past week I've been shit dead tired everyday, got food poisoning and oh what, bought a new camera. Weee, I'd been saving up for ages and finally took the plunge and got myself an early birthday present - Canon 60D with an 18-55mm. I'd been looking for an upgrade for a while now anyways cause my old Nikon is starting to slowly deteriorate. hahahas. But I decided to get it this weekend cause my birthday is coming up and I wanted a new camera to snap photos on. Here are a couple of test shots, I'm still adjusting to it. I played around with it before reading the instructions and became very confused. LOL

Can't wait to use it from now on!

anish kapoor

Hey hey, so today me and some friends went over to the MCA to see the Anish Kapoor exhibition. It was actually homework for one of my subjects at uni. I was initially not that interested in seeing the exhibition, but I found that I really enjoyed it. I loved the perspectives and optical illusions the artworks had and it was basically just a lot of fun. Part of our homework was to sketch the artworks, it was fun to just sit on the gallery floor and observe and take in the space and surroundings. Defs recommend to check it out before the exhibition ends.

uni day uno

dark magenta lace top (H&M)
black skater skirt (H&M)
black socks (H&M)
black vans dupes (Big W) - $4

First day of uni today and yes it's done and dusted. Started the day off with a lecture introducing us to the course then we got split into groups for studio. In my group, there was this girl that was like 'hey are you Gracie?'. I was like HOLY CRAP SOMEONE KNOWS ME HERE. And since I've got my dad's bad genes of not being able to recognise people, I was awkwardly like.. uhm sorry do I know you. Turns out we'd met years ago at a friend's party, kind of all came rushing back to me. But yeah I was really glad that I'd met someone I knew I'd get along with easily in the course. Our task for the day was to bring 2D patterns into the 3D - which basically involved playing with paper and tape for four hours straight. Felt like I was in kindergarten :3
