Last night, I went to check out the end of year architecture graduate exhibition - so the third years and master's work. The standard is set pretty high and you could just see the exquisite quality of work as an overriding factor in all of the majors. What was interesting was the fact that I had been to graduate exhibitions before starting my degree and was amazed at the detail of the works, however now, after a year of architorture, I now know what it's like to be on the other side. To be the ones making portfolios, doing the drawings and presenting with insufficient sleep. And the all nighters, the painstakingly number of hours you spend trying to draft to perfection, the model making - just all of it. So behind every work, there was a student paving away trying to meet the deadline the night before it was due. Just a thought.
Exhibition goes from 3rd -9th of December, pop in to check it out if you have the time.
